A possible quorum of the City of Eagle Lake City Council may be in attendance at the Inaugural State of the City event. Although this gathering is not a meeting pursuant to the Texas Open Meetings Act and a quorum of the members of the City Council may or may not be available to attend this gathering, this notice is being posted as a precaution. No formal business or action will be conducted or taken by the City Council of the City of Eagle Lake, Texas, during this event.
The attendance by a quorum of the City of Eagle Lake City Council or other
Boards and Commissions at this event is not considered a “meeting”
under the Act “if formal action is not taken and any discussion of public
business is incidental to the social function.”
