Board of Adjustment

Meetings

The Board of Adjustment meets as needed.

Purpose

The composition and activities of the board shall be in accordance with V.T.C.A., Local Government Code, Chapter 211.

The Board of Adjustment is a six-member, quasi-judicial Board that considers matters related to the Zoning Ordinance, including Appeals, Special Exceptions, and Variances. The Board hears and decides appeals where it is alleged there is an error of law in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the code enforcement officer in the enforcement of the Chapter 14: Zoning Ordinance.

Members

Each member of the Council shall appoint one person to the Board of Adjustment. The members of the board shall be residents of the City of Eagle Lake and shall serve without compensation.  (Board of Adjustment Ordinance No. 2016-004)

Term Length

The term of office for each member of the Board of Adjustment shall be for two (2) years and shall be concurrent with that of the Councilman who appointed them to the Board.
